Having bought the red hat, being persuaded that the £40 price tag was worth it, I now needed to channel the Girl with the Red Hat.
However, this was going to prove harder than I anticipated. Two weeks later and I still hadn’t the courage to leave the house wearing it. Why? It’s just a hat, it’s winter and my head is cold. I’m in my mid-late twenties, surely I should be passed the stage where I care what everybody thinks. Apparently not.
But then it hit me. The Girl in the Red Hat wouldn’t care what people think. She would wear the red hat.
So the next time I left the house I wore the hat. Now, truth be told, it was just for a 15 minute walk round to my friends house and then a 40 minute walk to supermarket and home. Although it was a start.
Now the hat would not do well in the rain, if there is any hint of wind it would be halfway down the street in minutes and it would not work well with 90% of my outfits.
However, I need to channel the Girl with the Red Hat everyday. Not just when I am wearing the Red Hat.
